World Stand Up Paddle Board Champion Will Compete in
BC’s FIRST Charity SUP Race in Surrey

Event Will Benefit New Kids Mental Health Facility

SURREY, BC (July 5th 2016) – Team USA Stand Up Paddleboarding Champion and multiple gold medal winner Danny Ching, will participate in BC’s first charity SUP race later this month, featuring a prize pot of $10,000 – the largest prize amount in any Canadian paddle board event.

Champion of the Crescent, presented by EllisDon, will be held at Blackie Spit Park at Crescent Beach on July 24th from 10am.

While Danny is a world class paddle boarding icon, the event will feature a number of races for competitors of varying skill levels – from beginners right up to pros. There will be a 10KM Competitive Race, 5KM Recreational Race, Kid’s Race, Corporate Relay, as well as a SUP Exhibition and Family Activity Zone.

Champion of the Crescent will benefit a new centre at Surrey Memorial Hospital for children and teens suffering with diseases of the mind that prevent them from attending school, or even relating normally within their families and among friends. The Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Stabilization Unit will open in 2017.
